Humanity has reached a moment where every decision matters. Our economies, infrastructure, technologies, and institutions have given us extraordinary progress, but they have also created challenges that no nation or organization can solve alone. The future depends on our ability to work together in ways that allow people, communities, economies, and the natural world to flourish.
Every generation is asked one defining question: What kind of world will we leave behind?
If your organization's purpose includes a sustainable, peaceful, and prosperous world, we invite you to contribute your institutional power to a global movement dedicated to this magnificent dream by making the OnTrackWorld Promise.
We promise that by December 31, 2030, collaboration and coordination for the sustainable well-being of all will be the fundamental operating principle of civilization, enshrined in every nation's constitution.
A promise this big needs two kinds of signers: the people who stand for these principles and carry the invitation, and the enterprises and governments that will write it into their charters, plans, and laws. This page is for the organizations.
When your enterprise, agency, or government makes this Promise, you commit to the following ethics and Principles for Collaboration.
Every organization that makes the Promise commits to these ethics. Please read them in full. Each one is part of what your organization is standing for.
We do not accept financial support that would require placing any single business agenda over the interests of the planet and its people.
We convene dialogues on a level playing field, welcoming representation and perspectives from all affected stakeholder groups. Inclusivity is fundamental to our planning approach.
We are politically nonpartisan. We work closely with officials and citizens of every party and persuasion because industrial and infrastructure systems serve everyone.
We hold ourselves accountable to future generations by working only on projects that align with a healthy environment and thriving communities. Return-on-investment analysis must account for all environmental and community impacts, while acknowledging that some worthwhile projects carry unavoidable negative impacts. We support investments that advance the transition away from the overuse of fossil fuels, petrochemicals, and water, and we respect the real-world challenges of that journey. We align our planning and investment horizons with the practical pace of these markets and help others do the same.
There are four steps to evaluating every project for alignment with these values and goals:
The Promise is embodied in these principles, which guide our day-to-day interactions within our organizations and communities.
Many believe that including more people slows progress. The opposite is true. Incorporating a wider spectrum of perspectives produces smarter solutions that win broad adoption and get implemented. We practice collaboration and coordination in balance with helpful competition.
We are responsible for the quality of our relationships. In every conversation, we advance mutual learning and recognize others' strengths and perspectives.
We make promises we intend to keep, and we set a completion time for each one. New undertakings face barriers. The challenges we encounter are a reflection of our commitment, not a lack of commitment. Stay in the game.
Integrative dialogue transcends conventional debate, in which either/or and right/wrong exchanges push valuable perspectives to the margins. We work together to synthesize new understandings, especially when seemingly opposing views are expressed.
While statements frame concerns as intractable problems, asking questions immediately orients us toward solutions. Asking questions when writing and speaking opens up new ways of thinking and sparks new ideas.
We work with people of every party, persuasion, and background, not because we abandon our convictions, but because a world that works for everyone is built with everyone.
This work is unprecedented and demands continuous learning and adaptation. External change begins when we expand our receptiveness to new ideas. Bring it on.
We share information, ideas, and wisdom rather than withhold them. Sharing accelerates productivity and progress. It is time to scale up our collective intelligence.
Sustained collective effort runs on positivity. We value each other's participation and express our appreciation.
IntelliSynthesis® is the logic and intelligence all around us, so often hidden by posturing, positioning, and politicizing. When we act in the community's best interests, collective intelligence naturally guides us toward solutions that work for everyone.
